Grammy-nominated violinist Philippe Quint plans to replace the airport cacophony of taxis and airplanes with the exquisite tones of a 285-year-old violin to give thanks to the cabdriver who reunited him with the lost instrument. Quint said he will play a private 30-minute performance today at Newark Liberty International Airport's cab waiting area. Mohamed Khalil and his family also will have tickets to Quint's next New York performance, Sept. 23 at Carnegie Hall. Khalil returned the irreplaceable 1723 Antonio Stradivari "Ex-Kiesewetter," valued at $4 million, that Quint left in his cab April 21. People France honored Kylie Minogue on Monday, making her Knight in the Order of Arts and Letters for her contribution to French culture. The 39-year-old Australian singer received the prestigious title the day before kicking off a world tour for her album "X." Culture Minister Christine Albanel called Minogue the "princess of pop, the uncontested queen of the dance floor" and also praised her personal courage in her battle against breast cancer.
