Sprint Cup Series points leader Kyle Busch will make history this weekend by racing in all three of NASCAR's national series at separate racetracks. He will compete in the Craftsman Truck Series at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday, the Nationwide Series at Nashville Superspeedway on Saturday and finish with the Cup's Pocono 500 Sunday in Pennsylvania.
To pull it off, Busch will use a helicopter, a Marquis Jet private airplane and police escorts. He will eat and sleep on the plane, traveling more than 4,000 miles by air to race just 1,050.5 miles on the ground. "I want to race every day, all day, every minute," Busch said. "I want to be in a car, by myself, because that's where I am happiest." Busch will transition between three circuits, three types of cars, and three different race teams. He will sacrifice Truck and Nationwide track time to not miss any Cup practice at Pocono. Cup team owner, Joe Gibbs, has expressed no concerns with Busch's triple. Except for two missed Truck races, Busch has run the full schedule in all three series. He raced in the three series last weekend when they all were held at Dover International Raceway. Busch says his stamina will be most strained by the television crew recording his record-breaking journey. "It's fun for the fans to see me as crazy or as stupid as I might be, trying to run all these," Busch said. "They get the excitement of seeing whether or not I'll succeed or fail."
