What are the Different Classes of Vertebrates?
Animals with a backbone are really fascinating. We call this backbone a spinal column. These creatures belong to a group. It’s known as the subphylum Vertebrata. This group is part of a larger one. That bigger group is called Chordata. Learning about vertebrates is pretty interesting. Honestly, it’s also super important. It helps us understand all the different kinds of life on Earth. It shows us how life has changed over time too. There are five main kinds of vertebrates. They are fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals. Each kind has its own special features. Mammals live in all sorts of places. They show amazing ways of adapting. Some mammals took to the air, like bats did. Others went back to the ocean, like whales.
